This song was first recorded in 1929 by a Virginia group variously
known as the Buck Mountain Band, Grayson County Railsplitters,
and Ballard Branch Bogtrotters. While the Bogtrotters sang of how
they were prevented from returning home due to rising floods, in
our version - a live staple since we started playing back in 2016 - we
embrace staying out all night and the joy that comes with it.
